Applications
Custom pet product labels come with a rulebook most printers have never read. Pet food and treats follow AAFCO’s model regulations and FDA animal-food rules: the product name itself obeys percentage formulas, and a guaranteed analysis panel is non-negotiable. Treat bakers, pet food brands, and grooming lines bring us that whole stack, and we lay every element out correctly. Pet label printing at White Graphics carries G7® Master Certified color and Naperville, Illinois craft.
Pet label sizes for pouches, tubs, and bottles
Kibble pouch to shampoo bottle, the die follows the package itself. Our builds span pouch faces for treats and kibble, wraps for tubs and jars, panels for shampoo and grooming bottles, and small labels for supplement-style chews.
Shapes
Pouch rectangles, tub wraps, bone and paw die-cuts, and bottle panels for the grooming shelf.
Materials
Durable white films built for oily treats and wet-handed (and wet-nosed) handling.
Finishes
Gloss for the pet-aisle pop, matte for premium-natural positioning, laminated for grease either way.
Formats
Singles for small batches, rolls for packing lines.
Greasy training treats or dry biscuits? The fat content picks the laminate, so tell us with the quote.
Built for grease, slobber, and the garage shelf
Pet packaging leads a rough life: fatty treats oil the pouch from inside, wet hands and eager noses work it from outside, and half of it gets stored in garages through temperature swings. Our pet builds seal the face, laminate against grease, and use adhesives that ride out hot-cold cycling, so the brand looks retail-fresh from first treat to last.
A pet line that shelves like a brand, not a bake sale
Pet brands multiply fast: flavors, sizes, species. Digital printing runs the whole line on shared dies with each SKU in its own quantity, and G7®-certified presswork holds the brand block identical across every product and reorder.
Pet food labels have their own grammar
Pet food and treats are regulated as animal food, under FDA rules plus AAFCO’s model regulations as adopted by state feed programs. We lay out each element the way the system expects:
- Product-name percentage rules: what a name may claim tracks the recipe. An ingredient-forward name, a “dinner,” a “with,” or a “flavor” each signals a different inclusion level, and the name your formula earns is the one that prints.
- Guaranteed analysis: crude protein and fat minimums, fiber and moisture maximums, in the standard panel order.
- Nutritional adequacy: the AAFCO-referenced statement (complete-and-balanced versus intermittent/supplemental feeding), worded to your product’s actual status.
- Feeding directions and species: who it’s for and how much, set legibly.
- Ingredient list and business line: descending order, plus your name and address.
- State registration reality: pet food registers state by state through feed programs; that paperwork is yours and your advisor’s, and the label we print is the one you file.
Orientation reading lives at the FDA’s pet food page and AAFCO’s Understanding Pet Food; we lay the panel out exactly as approved.
Treats, chow, and the grooming shelf
We print pressure-sensitive pet labels for baked treats and biscuits, jerky and chews, kibble pouches, supplements-style soft chews, and shampoo and grooming bottles. Related categories: snack food labels (same pouch physics), fit-engineered bottle labels, and scan-checked barcode labels. Or browse everything else we print.
Pet artwork with the panel where it belongs
The guaranteed-analysis panel pasted in as a screenshot is this category’s classic file problem, and our prepress team rebuilds it as clean vector type as part of the job. Beyond the panel: bleed, a safe zone around the analysis, dies drawn to pouches and tubs, and art supplied as PDF, AI, or EPS in CMYK at 300 dpi.
From lab numbers to labeled treats
Pet runs start with the data: guaranteed analysis rebuilt as vector type, the naming rule confirmed against your recipe, a proof issued for sign-off, then G7®-standard presswork on grease-rated film with laminate to match. Dies come off your actual pouches and tubs, and multi-SKU treat lines run in one job, each flavor in its own count.
Pet product label FAQs
What belongs on a dog treat label?
Product name (following the percentage naming rules), guaranteed analysis, ingredient list, nutritional adequacy or intermittent-feeding statement, feeding directions, net weight, and your business line. We lay out the full set to the AAFCO-style conventions.
What’s the difference between “beef dinner” and “with beef”?
Recipe percentage. The naming formulas step down from ingredient-forward names through “dinner” and “with” to “flavor.” Each implies a different inclusion level, and the name must match the formula.
What is guaranteed analysis?
The standardized panel of crude protein and fat minimums and fiber and moisture maximums, pet food’s equivalent of Nutrition Facts. We set it in the standard order from your lab numbers.
Do I have to register my treats with each state?
Most states require feed-program registration. That filing is yours and your advisor’s; the label we print is the artwork you file.
Will labels survive greasy treats?
They’re built for it. Sealed faces and grease-rated laminates are the default pet build, chosen against your product’s fat content.
Can a small treat bakery run short batches?
Of course. Market-weekend quantities are normal here, each flavor in its own count, scaling with the brand.
What file format works for pet label artwork?
Vector files (PDF, AI, EPS) in CMYK at 300 dpi with bleed, pouch and tub dies, and the guaranteed-analysis panel as live type; screenshots get rebuilt.
